Cassondra is a Brooklyn based singer-songwriter. At a young age she began singing with a church group, eventually moving on to sing with local rock bands in Buffalo, NY. When she made the leap to New York City at the age of 19, she cut her teeth playing in the subway and shaking down open-mics in Brooklyn. This proved to be a great forum to connect with fellow talents, who she now collaborates with in her various bands. She regularly commands audiences at popular music venues such as Rockwood Music Hall, Pianos, Knitting Factory, The Way Station, Pete’s Candy Store and Sidewalk Cafe.
Cassondra’s style is a punk/folk blend combing her unique, bluesy lyricism with raw, domineering energy. She draws inspiration from her personal relationships, singing about the struggles of falling in and out of love.
When she isn’t fronting her own band, she sings with the irish gypsy-folk rock band Mike O’Malley & The Beastie Band. “A collision of chamber folk’s sweeping arrangements, punk’s ragged vigor, and Irish Trad’s rollicking pulse, Mike O’Malley & Beastie Band are no strangers to biting off more than they can chew.” She frequently records session vocals for multiple artists.
Cassondra has released two singles, “Remember When” and “Take My Hand” available everywhere! Her first album will be out May 29th, 2019.
